The Nautical Academy is a pioneering initiative offering the superyacht industry the unique opportunity to be trained by leading maritime training providers, all under one roof. The Nautical Academy is based at the renowned MB92 refit and repair shipyard in Barcelona Spain, where yachts can take advantage of the training opportunities whilst visiting the yard.
First of its Kind
The Nautical Academy is the first training facility of it’s kind where yacht crew can complete fully MCA, RYA and PYA accredited courses across all departments, including deck, medical, safety, security, leadership, interior and culinary courses. Training can take place at the facilities inside MB92 Shipyard in Barcelona or NA can tailor complete crew packages for on-board training, for any size yacht, anywhere in the world.
Jewel in the Crown
The Jewel in the Crown of The Nautical Academy is Sovren House, which houses the professional Interior training school and the culinary academy. Formally known as the Clock House, Sovren House has been beautifully renovated and refurbished and as well as providing training facilities for the interior and culinary courses, it also serves a complimentary hospitality lounge available to yacht owners, captains and heads of departments, whilst yachts are visiting the MB92 shipyard.
Exciting New Curriculum
The Nautical Academy’s exciting curriculum courses for the new season 2015 include STCW (Standards of Certification and Watchkeeping) Basic Safety training, STCW (2010) Update training and Advanced Fire Fighting in Barcelona. These courses are run monthly and on demand.
